Fiction tutorial

Working on a young fiction or middle grade chapter book? This children’s fiction editorial package might be exactly what you need!

Introducing our Fiction tutorial

Different from our picture book tutorials, this editorial package is designed to give you a clear editorial overview of how to develop and refine your children's fiction project.

What to expect

From plot and pacing to character development, there’s so much scope as to what can be discussed within this children’s fiction editorial package – and led by our industry experts Mariesa or Ramona, you and your manuscript will be in very safe hands.

Once you’ve booked this package, you’ll be asked to submit a synopsis of your book, the first three chapters, and a chapter breakdown on the whole book. Using these materials, Mariesa or Ramona will be able to assess your voice as an author, the target age-range for the story, and where it would sit within the complex publishing market.

The one-to-one Zoom session is where we’ll go through all of this detail with you, and give you actionable feedback for you to take your story forward.

Often, we find that our writers benefit from having further sessions – these are ideal for continued development, especially if you’re looking for in-depth editorial feedback across a full manuscript. If this is something you’re interested in, please do get in touch for a custom quote that’s tailored to your bespoke needs.

During the tutorial, you will receive detailed verbal feedback with goals to work towards. As this feedback is individual to you, we offer you the option to record the session for your future reference.
